The Clay County Sheriff's Office responds to more than 300,000 calls for service each year and, in large part, it is these patrol deputies who respond. On average, the three sectors have between forty and sixty deputies assigned to patrol duties and they report directly to their supervisors regarding each day's events. Their duties range from mediating domestic disputes to capturing armed robbers - its all in a day's work.
