| Thank
you for your interest in the Clay County Sheriff's Office. Clay
County’s citizens are looking for information about the
progress being made at the Clay County Sheriff's Office and
the anti-crime efforts underway. The purpose of this Internet
site is to provide that information and to also make reaching
us with your input as easy as possible.
We
can sum up the past decade in Clay County in one word –
growth. The challenge this creates
for the Clay County Sheriff's Office is this – How do
we maintain the quality of life in Clay County in an atmosphere
of rapid growth? There is no magic formula or simple answer
to this question. However, we believe changes have been made
at the CCSO that address the problem proactively and effectively.
The following personnel represent the command staff of our agency
and are the supervisors who will assist in the implementation
of future improvements:
Col.
Terry La Casse, Undersheriff
Major
Craig Aldrich, Administration Bureau Commander
Major Carl Crossley, Detention Bureau Commander
Captain
Lee Harris , Chief of Patrol Division
Captain
Mike Hardee, Chief of Detective Division
Captain
Johnny Mack Smith , Chief of Corrections Division
Chief of Professional Services, Captain Mike Lawrence
Captain
David Murray , Chief of Administrative Services Division
Captain
Jimmy Wilson , Chief of Special Operations Division
Chief Financial Officer Sharon Kraus
Not
only is our agency meeting the challenge of growth by having
the right values, the right people, and the needed funds and
equipment; our agency is actually exceeding expectations by
lowering the crime rate and clearing more cases then ever
before! We aren’t just keeping up with the rate of growth,
we are improving our services to the public despite it. We're
glad to share this good news with you, but the biggest challenge
related to growth is that it is ongoing. We must continue
to increase and improve our recruiting practices in order
to keep manpower levels where they need to be and all of us
need to realistically consider public safety funding resources
for the future.
Our quality of life and that of future Clay County generations
depends on our ability to face the growth challenge and set
a course for success and safety for decades to come. Thank
you, again, for your interest in our agency. I hope you find
this Internet site a useful resource for current safety information
and an open line of communication to express your ideas and
concerns to my staff.
