PUBLIC INFORMATION ANNOUNCEMENT
For Immediate Release: December 18, 2008
Attached is information about two defendants arrested by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office on Clay County warrants for Commercial Littering this week. Our county's Environmental Crimes detectives believe these two suspects are responsible for illegally dumping 1,904 cubic feet of tree and shrub debris in various areas of Keystone Heights.
Shawn Tennant and Richard Joseph (mug shots from PCSO attached) were arrested this week on the warrants and $30,000 bond each. It would have cost these suspects less than $100 to legally dispose of the debris at the county's landfill.
Shawn Tennant also has a criminal history that involves an arrest for Exploitation of the Elderly in Clay County.
Also attached, for the benefit of your readers, is information obtained from the AARP regarding door-to-door salesman and contractors. Please consider using some of this cautionary information to inform your readers, especially senior citizens.
If you have any questions about these arrests or about illegal dumping in Clay County, please call Detective Robert Dews at 904-541-5823. Please contact the Putnam County S-O for copies of their booking sheets and/or their jail status.
Thank you.
