Clay County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Vending Machine Burglars
Clay County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating numerous cases of burglaries to vending machines and, with the release of the attached photos, would like the community’s assistance in identifying the suspects. Detectives estimate that in 2008 in the Northeast Florida area these burglars stole bills and coins and caused damage to the machines totaling over $70,000. Detectives are working to determine if the suspects in various cases are working together or separately.
In Clay County, the vending machine burglaries this year occurred county wide and mostly in the last four months. The sites include county high schools, strip malls, Wal Marts, grocery stores, coin laundry businesses and public parks.
Please publish/broadcast/post these photos (they’ll open in Photoshop or cut and paste off the Word Document) so that your readers/viewers can review them. Please ask that they contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at 264-6512 with any information. CCSO Det. Gary Brashear is leading the investigation for our agency and can be contacted with any questions through the same number.
Thank you.
