PUBLIC INFORMATION ANNOUNCEMENT
Fundraiser Conducted and Proceeds Presented
(Release Date 1-21-09) Quigley House Director Sharon Youngerman was presented with a check for $7,600....the result of the Sheriff's Office annual Beards & Blossoms fundraiser. This is a record amount raised....surpassing last year's amount by $1,000.
Each year for a three month period, Sheriff Beseler temporarily suspends the "no beard" agency policy and allows male employees to grow beards in exchange for a $10 monthly donation to our county's domestic violence shelter, Quigley House. In addition, the owner of Park Avenue Florist, Pam Wolbert, donates hundreds of flower arrangements that are purchased by female and male CCSO employees, also in exchange for a $10 monthly donation.
The result is the substantial donation to the shelter that you see here. The funds are put to great use by the QH staff....to enhance services to women and children who are victims of abuse or sexual assault.
Kudos to the over 250 CCSO employees who particiapted in this year's effort!
