Weekend Shooting at Clay County Night Club Investigated by CCSO

CCSO Robbery-Homicide Detectives continue their investigation today into a shooting that occurred in the parking lot of Club Christopher, an Orange Park night club, early Saturday morning.

At 2:40am Saturday morning, deputies were called to 1620 Wells Road, Club Christopher, in response to a shooting that occurred in the dirt parking lot on the west side of the business. 22 year old Joseph Scott of Jacksonville, the victim, was standing by his vehicle in the parking lot at which time an unknown suspect shot multiple rounds from an unknown type firearm hitting the victim with at least one of the rounds.

The victim was transported to Shand's Jacksonville by Clay County Fire Rescue paramedics. Scott spent the weekend in Shands’ ICU but has since been upgraded and is recovering. He is in serious but stable condition.

Detectives are working to secure a description of the suspect and those new details will be released as soon as they become available.
