Public Information Announcement
April 22, 2009
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office will be meeting with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office for a Cops Without Borders meeting on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 0900, at Chik-Fil-A located at 9500 Argyle Forest Boulevard. All media is invited to attend this meeting.
At the Cops Without Borders meetings both agencies respond with officers that patrol the county line areas. During these meetings they distribute information that does or could affect both agencies/counties. The officers coordinate efforts for better communication which has lead to the identification and the arrest of suspects for both agencies.
We hold the meetings in open and at public locations, so the citizens, can see both agencies working together. During past meetings both agencies have worked together on deployments, which have lead to arrests. While Cops Without Borders is an excellent agreement, it only works because both agencies work together for the common goal.
