CCSO Forms New Pipes and Drums Corps

Calling all bagpipers! Calling all drummers! The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is forming its first-ever volunteer “Pipes and Drums” and Agency Bagpipe Specialist Art Tenney is actively seeking volunteers. All skill levels are welcome and training is available.

A kick-off meeting will be held on Thursday, May 14th at 6:30pm at the FOP Lodge located on CR 220 just east of College Avenue in Clay County.

Anyone interested in joining the group or in just learning more about it is encouraged to attend the meeting. Volunteers should bring with them whatever musical instruments (bagpipes or drums) that they already have. There is no cost to join this group.

The CCSO “Pipes and Drums” will perform in the future at various agency ceremonies including award assemblies, memorial services, parades, police or fire personnel funerals and other community events. This type of traditional musical presentation adds a greater level of somber reverence to these events.
