PUBLIC INFORMATION ANNOUNCEMENT
Burglars Arrested After Suspect Photo with Child Shown Detective to Speak at 1pm at OP Office
(Release date 12-14-2009) The Clay County Sheriff's Office arrested two suspects in connection to multiple armed burglaries and burglaries and a warrant has been obtained for a third suspect already in custody in Duval County.
Eric Crego and Andrew Cook were arrested in Clay County. Jaimee Crego is in custody in Duval County, arrested earlier by JSO for other burglaries committed in their jurisdiction. Eric and Jaimee Crego are husband and wife and Andrew Cook is their nephew. All three suspects remain in jail.
A surveillance photo of Eric Crego (and his young daughter) was released to the local media and several calls were received identifying him. The follow up investigation led detectives to the Cregos and Cook. Detectives suspect that the Cregos may have had their young children with them at least once when the series of door kick-in burglaries occurred. DCF has been notified.
At 1pm today at the Orange Park Operations Center (212 Blanding Blvd) General Investigations Unit Detective Mark Romano will be available to answer questions about the case(s). Please find attached booking sheets for Mr. Crego and Cook along with booking photos. Please contact JSO for the information and photo related to Mrs. Crego.
Thank you.
