Fatal Crash on SR 21 in Keystone Heights

For Immediate Release

A single vehicle crash ended the life of a Keystone Heights man this weekend in Clay County. The white 2010 Dodge Caliber was traveling south on Blanding Blvd. (AKA State Road 21) early Saturday morning and for an unknown reason left the roadway in the 6200 block and struck a tree on the east side of roadway. The crash happened at 4:00am and no other vehicles were involved.

The passenger, Chris Tucker of Keystone, died at the scene. The driver, Meaghan Parmenter of Starke, was ground transported to Shands Hospital in Gainesville where she remains in stable condition. The investigation into the cause of this crash is ongoing, including tests to determine if the driver was impaired.
