"Pill Mill" Raid Conducted in Clay County
Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler today announced that a search warrant was served on a medical facility at 454 Blanding Boulevard, Orange Park, Florida that was allegedly operating as a pill mill. So far, nine subjects have been arrested for multiple drug charges. All the subjects arrested were patients waiting to be seen by the staff.
Seven agencies participated in the search warrant including; Clay County Sheriff’s Office/Clay County Drug Task Force, JSO/HIDTA, FDLE, US Marshals, DEA, ATF, Department of Health, St. John’s County Sheriff’s Office, and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. Several documents, drugs, and cash were seized.
The investigation began several weeks ago after complaints were received about the number of out of state license plates on vehicles frequenting this facility on Blanding Boulevard. Officers received a search warrant and executed it today alleging that the facility was operating as a pain clinic without a license.
Investigators are still on scene conducting interviews and more arrests are possible.
