The Clay County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit will conduct a traffic safety checkpoint this Friday/Saturday night. It will begin at 11pm on Friday the 22nd and conclude at 3am on Saturday the 23rd. The location of this checkpoint will be the 2300 block of Blanding Blvd. in Middleburg.

CCSO Special Operations Capt. Ronnie Gann is especially proud of recent recognition given to the CCSO Traffic Unit by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for its outstanding dedication to sobriety checkpoints (8 events held in 2010). The number of traffic crash fatalities in Clay County declined in 2010 (14 in 2010; 16 in ‘09).
