Sink Hole causes Road Closure
A 3-feet-deep by two-feet-wide “sink hole” is the cause of a road closure in Orange Park at this hour. The location of the hole is the 200 block of Blanding Blvd near the intersection of Edson Drive.
The hole is located in the right-hand, northbound lane. All northbound lanes of Blanding Blvd. will be closed temporarily (4 hour estimate) as crews from FDOT work to repair the hole. CCSO deputies will remain on scene to direct traffic around the closure. However, the best advice is to avoid northbound Blanding Blvd if at all possible as traffic will become congested. Use Brannanfield/Chaffee or SR 17 as alternates.
You will be notified once the road is fully reopened. There is no explanation at this time for the cause of the hole.
