Wednesday, August 22, 2012

MEDIA RELEASE
Great Time to Take a Safe Boating Course

With calendars now uncluttered by summer activities, it’s a great time to take that Safe Boating Course before the holidays arrive. USCG Auxiliary Flotilla 14-5 in Green Cove Springs offers a FREE one-day course, 9am to 5pm on both Saturday, September 29th and Saturday, October 27th for both new and experienced boaters. This National Association of State Boating Law Administrator’s (NASBLA) approved course teaches the basics of boating safety. Lights, emergency procedures and required equipment are all covered, and the class satisfies Florida’s educational requirements for all boaters born after January 1, 1988 to earn their Boating Safety Education ID card.
To obtain more information or pre-register for this US Coast Guard recognized course, or to request a FREE Vessel Safety Check, email flotilla14.5@gmail.com or call Wayne Beard, Flotilla Staff Officer – Public Education, at 386-698-2353.
