FINAL 2012 BOAT SMART CLASS SCHEDULED IN CLAY COUNTY
October 1, 2012
Summer is gone, but North Floridians still have plenty of time to enjoy their spectacular waterways. The Holidays will be here before you know it, so this might be a good time to update your boating knowledge and skills and catch up on the newest navigational gadgets. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 14-5 in Green Cove Springs is here to help. They offer their last FREE BoatSmart course of 2012 on Saturday October 27th.
The course is approved by the State of Florida, the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA), and recognized by the United States Coast Guard. Upon completion of this one day training, students complete a multiple choice test, and in about four weeks receive their State of Florida Boating Safety Education ID card from Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. This ID card is now a requirement for boaters born after January 1, 1988.
Classes are held in Green Cove Springs from 9:00 AM to about 5:00 PM at the Clay Port, Inc. (Reynolds Industrial Center), south side of SR16E (behind the Military Museum of North Florida’s Quonset hut). Pre-registration is required for attendance. For more information and to reserve your seats, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Wayne Beard at 386-698-2353.
