CCSO Conducts Award Ceremony

MEDIA RELEASE

CCSO Conducts Award Ceremony Today Including Special Citizen Award

Today at 3pm at the CCSO main office in Green Cove Springs (Det. David White Memorial HQ’s) Sheriff Rick Beseler and his staff will conduct a quarterly employee awards ceremony. The Sheriff will recognize a group of CCSO members who were nominated by their peers due to a variety of achievements including teamwork, exceptional service and going above and beyond the call of duty.

After the employees are honored, a special Citizen Commendation Award will be presented to Clay County resident Devin McEwen. McEwen is credited with saving a woman’s life after she experienced a medical emergency and drove her car into a retention pond. Several media outlets covered this incident when it occurred back on August 22nd and may recall that McEwen was very humble about his actions and, after saving the female driver from the sinking car, went back to work at an Orange Park motorcycle shop.

Today we will honor our own members but also take time out to say “thank you” to one of Clay County’s citizens who himself went above and beyond to help a fellow citizen of our community. Please join us for this event.
Thank you,
Mary Justino, CCSO Public Affairs
