Civilian Employment Opportunities

 

There are a variety of civilian (non-law enforcement, non-corrections) employment opportunities that arise during the course of any year at the CCSO. To check on the availability of such openings, we encourage you to call the CCSO Human Resources Section directly at (904) 213-6040. Even if a current opening does not exist, arrangements can be made to receive your application now and notify you once a position becomes available.

The CCSO is accepting applications for the following civilian position(s): 

Purchasing Specialist – responsibilities include: accurately code requisitions for appropriate financial accounting; review requisitions for missing or inaccurate information and interact with personnel to gain and record correct information as necessary; accurately and timely enter requisition information into NAVISION software; receive, sort, and distribute mail for the agency, including intra-office mail; process outgoing mail and packages; operate office equipment to apply correct postage; assist other employees to issue/receive supply issued items; review vendor data base for accurate information and assist with W-9/1099 information; review and reconcile monthly fuel consumption charges; make travel arrangements, as necessary; assist with obtaining quotes for goods or services from vendors; additional duties as required. Min. qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent, type 25 cwpm, valid driver’s license.  Computer knowledge of MS Office applications, analytical skills, basic bookkeeping / accounting.  Florida State Retirement. Records Specialist – responsibilities include: data entry; assist the public and co-workers - pulling reports, providing information regarding cases, copying, etc; be functional at researching information in the in-house computer; prepare reports for the media; update files; review reports received from deputies; handle mail-in requests; pre-file and file inmate folders; additional duties as required. Min. qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent, type 35 cwpm, professional phone skills and general office skills to include filing.  Florida State Retirement.  EEO / Drug-Free Workplace.  Submit completed applications to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, PO Box 548, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043, (904) 213-040.  Deadline to apply 4/20/15.

Accounting Analyst - Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Prepare budget analysis report, Budget transfers & amendments, Prepare, reconcile & analyze general ledger accounts & bank reconciliations, coordinate & monitor management of grant funds / expenditures & prepare grant evaluation reports, Prepare & analyze various account analysis & reports, Maintain computerized financial systems, Assist in implementation of various procedures, internal accounting controls, audit trail & process improvement, Prepare & submit reports and analysis to management. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance and / or equivalent work experience with strong working knowledge of GAAP & GASB.  Deadline to apply is April 15th, 2015. Excellent benefits package to include Florida State Retirement. 

L.P.N.s Needed – F/T and P/T.  The Clay County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for L.P.N.s to work in our Detention Facility Medical Section—one of the best facilities in the state.  Flexible scheduling—work an occasional shift or F/T. Great salary and state retirement. Excellent benefits for F/T. 

 

Crossing Guards - $9.50 / hour.  Duties include: monitoring school crossing areas, instructing children on proper crossing procedures, monitoring student behavior, reporting traffic violations, attending mandatory trainings.  Must be in good physical condition including sight, sound and mobility; good communication skills; dependable; able to work a split shift; able to pass background check including fingerprint submission, physical exam and drug test.  Must have high school diploma / GED.  Florida state retirement.  EEO / Drug-Free Workplace.
