Civilian Employment Opportunities

There are a variety of civilian (non-law enforcement, non-corrections) employment opportunities that arise during the course of any year at the CCSO. To check on the availability of such openings, we encourage you to call the CCSO Human Resources Section directly at (904) 213-6040. Even if a current opening does not exist, arrangements can be made to receive your application now and notify you once a position becomes available.

The CCSO is accepting applications for the following civilian position(s): 

SCHOOL CROSSING GUARDS

$9.50 / hour.  Duties include: monitoring school crossing areas, instructing children on proper crossing procedures, monitoring student behavior, reporting traffic violations, attending mandatory trainings.  Must be in good physical condition including sight, sound and mobility; good communication skills; dependable; able to work a split shift; able to pass background check including fingerprint submission, physical exam and drug test.

  • Oakleaf area

L.P.N.

Part-time ($21 / hour) positions available NOW!!  Must have LPN license.  Working in the Medical Section of our Detention Facility.  Uniforms provided, free meals in our staff dining area, Florida state retirement.

EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS OPERATORS 

Salary range of $23,884 and up with merit increases after each phase of training.  ECO's take complaints, use phones/fax/pagers/computers, use CAD system, distribute mail, answer 911 calls, use TDD, and answer questions from the public.  Minimum qualifications include typing 35 words per minute, possession of valid Florida driver's license, high school diploma or GED, US citizen, no felony convictions, at least 18 years of age, must pass drug testing and be ogood moral character. Benefits include uniforms with laundry service, supplied equipment,annual leave, sick leave, paid holidays, health and life insurance, college tuition reimbursement program, and state retirement.  EOE, drug-free workplace.
