Wanted on Warrant:  Auto Thieves &/Or Auto Burglars

The Clay County Sheriff's Office in 2007 began a public awareness campaign aimed at decreasing the number of residents who leave their vehicles unsecured and unlocked making them easy targets for auto thieves and auto burglars.  This effort, called Like It? Lock It!, included media coverage, fliers for door-to-door distribution by volunteers, inclusion on Neighborhood Watch Group meeting agendas and newspaper ads.

The Like It? Lock It! effort now kicks into high gear by also encouraging residents to actively Look Out for suspects wanted on warrants for auto theft and for auto burglary.  As often as needed, the CCSO Warrants Unit will update a flier attached as a link from this site that highlights suspects currently sought on warrant by the CCSO in our area for past incidents of auto theft or burglary.  It has been said that past behavior is the best indicator of future behavior, so we all need to be on the look out for men and women known to target our vehciles and property.  Please take steps to make sure your car is not an easy target for people who want your IPODS, cell phones, wallets and more!

Click here to view the latest wanted list with photos.  Please note that these suspects are all adults.  Unfortunately, two-thirds of the arrests made each year for auto burglary and auto theft are of suspects under the age of 18.  Because of their juvenile status, the CCSO is not permitted to publicize their names and photos prior to their arrest on a felony charge.  For that reason, only information about wanted adults can be published on this site.
