Meet Undersheriff Ray Walden

Ray Walden oversees the directors and special assistants to Sheriff Darryl Daniels. He brings a wealth of experience to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. He is a 31-year law enforcement veteran who has held many senior-level positions with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) where he was most recently the director of Patrol. Walden started his career with the Baldwin Police Department as an officer. He has more than 2,000 hours of advanced training in hostage negotiations, SWAT liability, disaster preparedness and response and more

Walden will function as the chief of staff for the agency and will be in charge of day-to-day operations. He will work with Sheriff Daniels to manage the daily Clay County Sheriff’s Office which is comprised of nearly 600 personnel with a $53.3 million budget.
