Campaigns Focusing on Impaired Drivers and Habitual Offenders

Green Cove Springs, Fla. May 11 – Deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office have kicked off spring and summer campaigns to get impaired drivers and habitual traffic offenders off the roads. They will conduct periodic Saturation Patrols and Driver’s License Checkpoints throughout the county.

The goal is to reduce the number of aggressive, distracted, uninsured and impaired drivers. Deputies will also educate motorists on traffic laws and penalties for DUI, seatbelt use, operating a motor vehicle in an unsafe way and more.

Deputies will conduct a Driver’s License Checkpoint Saturday, May 13, from 10 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. at the following locations:

  • County Road 220, westbound, at Middleburg High School

  • County Road 315C, southbound, in front of McRae Elementary School

  • Town Center Boulevard, southbound, at Thunderbolt Road State Road 16 West, eastbound, at Clay High School

The periodic, traffic enforcement campaigns run until the end of August
