Deputies Focusing on Impaired Drivers

Green Cove Springs, Fla. March 15 – Don’t get pinched on St. Patrick’s Day! The Traffic Section of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office will conduct a saturation patrol this weekend. You will see more traffic enforcement deputies on the road identifying and apprehending impaired drivers.

“Impaired driving is more than drunk driving. Drivers can be under the influence of narcotics and other medications, which can affect them behind the wheel. The increased patrol enforcement this weekend is another way for my deputies to help reduce crime and keep our roadways safe,” said Sheriff Darryl Daniels.

If you are stopped for impaired driving, a ticket, including attorney’s fees and a possible insurance rate increase, could cost you a minimum of $10,000.
