LOCAL STUDENTS HONOR LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

Clay County Sheriff Daniels and Deputies Attending Special Luncheon

Green Cove Springs, Fla. Jan. 6 – Students at a local elementary school will host an inaugural luncheon to honor law enforcement officers. Sheriff Darryl Daniels and deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office will have lunch at Charles E. Bennett Elementary School, 1 S. Oakridge Ave., Green Cove Springs, on Jan. 9 from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The special luncheon is part of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

“My deputies and I are excited about the opportunity to spend quality time with the students. This will give us a chance to meet with and hear first-hand about issues and concerns from our youth. Community engagement is one of my major initiatives. It is important to connect with our youngest citizens to let them know we are on their side,” said Sheriff Daniels.

“In celebrating Law Enforcement Appreciation Day with our students, we treasure this opportunity to introduce young people to our everyday heroes. I want to thank all of the law enforcement personnel who serve our community. They are the ones who make it possible for us to teach and learn in a safe environment,” said Clay County Superintendent of Schools Addison Davis.

More than 30 officers from various area agencies will have lunch with the students. The meet and greet luncheon is a great way for students to thank officers for their contributions and for keeping them safe.
