Two people arrested for trafficking cocaine

Cocaine seized

CLAY COUNTY, FL — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime/Narcotics units, United States Postal Inspectors Office, United States Department of Homeland Security, United States Customs and Border Protection and the Florida Highway patrol conducted a joint investigation involving the trafficking of cocaine by multiple individuals. This investigation led to information that the subjects were attempting to conduct a drug transaction involving two kilos of cocaine in Clay County. During this operation and with a great team effort of all of the listed agencies both individuals were taken into custody without incident and two kilos of cocaine with an estimated street value of $70,000 were seized and placed into Clay County evidence. These illegal narcotics were intended to be distributed within Clay and Duval counties. This is another great win for our community and another example of the zero tolerance for this illegal activity within our county. Another out-of-county criminal thought that they could enter our county and conduct this criminal drug transaction and now they are out of options.
Luis Mario Hernandez and Christian Joel Serrano Hernandez were arrested and transported to the Clay County Jail for the charge of trafficking cocaine.
