Our first Citizens’ Academy of 2018 begins Wednesday, January 17th. This course will be held on Wednesday evenings, from 6-9PM, concluding on March 21st with graduation. Our 2018 course promises to be interesting, educating and adventurous.
*Please note, this class is currently filled over capacity; however, applications will still be accepted for our second course, later this year (date to be determined).
The program is designed to provide the public with a working knowledge of the mission, operations, policies and personnel of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. The goals of the academy are to create trust and understanding between the sheriff’s office and the citizens of our county. The academy also provides a productive outlet for the mutual sharing of information and concerns in order to further our shared goal of a safer Clay County.
Two, ten-week sessions are held each year. During the course, citizens will learn how each department in the agency operates, including the specialized units such as Negotiations, Dive, Marine and SWAT. They will also tour the sheriff’s office headquarters and participate in citizen ride-alongs, to name just a few exciting portions.
We encourage you to apply for the Citizens’ Academy by completing the application linked below and emailing it to firstname.lastname@example.org – Further questions can be directed to our Community Affairs Unit located at the Middleburg Operations Center.
